  Experience

I am a postdoctoral molecular virologist who has been a medical writer for the pharmaceutical industry since 1995. I now operate as a freelance medical writer for various corporate clients. I have first-hand experience of timelines, their importance, and the need to keep to them. I also have an appreciation of the need to submit quality documentation to regulatory authorities, and have worked extensively to provide documents suitable for international audiences (i.e. UK/US).

In my last role at GSK I was responsible for co-ordinating and writing phase I-III clinical trial documentation and summary documents for New Chemical Entities MAA/NDA submissions. Commissions as a freelance medical writer have included manuscripts, study reports and other regulatory specific documents. My experience is across diverse therapeutic areas including HIV, Herpes, Hepatitis, GI, respiratory and smoking cessation.

Before becoming a medical writer I held two post-doctoral molecular virology positions, one at Oxford University and the other at the National Institute for Medical Research. Prior to this I obtained my Ph. D. from the University of Cambridge (thesis entitled: Nucleotide sequence of a Cambridge isolate of Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1). My undergraduate degree is in microbiology.

A detailed copy of my CV is available upon request.
